Doctors don't routinely request a test to measure progesterone level in the blood. We usually ask for this test in women with fertility problems and sometime in women with problems in hair growth. Furthermore, the level of this hormone changes in the different parts of the period, therefore we should always look when the test was done in the menstrual period to answer if it is high or not.
More importantly, why did your doctor ask for this test? If you give us more information about your condition, we may be able to give you some answers. Regards.
